Summer has a way of slowing us down just enough to notice what God has been teaching us all along.

In this special summer catch-up episode, I'm sharing a lesson I didn't expect to learn while watching my son play All-Star baseball. Like many kids, he's wrestled with confidence, perfectionism, and letting his emotions take over after mistakes. This summer, he attended a baseball camp that focused less on mechanics and more on mindset—and they taught it through the classic movie The Sandlot.

Remember "The Beast"?

The neighborhood kids built it up into a terrifying monster, only to discover it was never as frightening as they imagined.

Isn't that exactly what fear does in our own lives?

Whether it's worrying about our children, fearing failure, doubting ourselves, or hesitating to step into what God is calling us to do, the enemy loves to magnify our fears until they seem impossible to overcome. But God has given us something greater than fear—a spirit of power, love, and a sound mind.

In this episode, we'll talk about:

  • ⚾ What youth baseball taught me about faith and mindset
  • 🐾 Why fear grows when we feed it
  • 💙 How the enemy exaggerates the "Beasts" in our minds
  • ✝️ What Scripture teaches us about overcoming fear
  • 🌸 Practical ways to replace fearful thoughts with God's truth

If you've been feeling overwhelmed by the "what ifs," this episode is a gentle reminder that our fears often look much larger from a distance than they do when we face them with Christ beside us.

Friend, the Beast isn't as big as you think—but our God is bigger than you've ever imagined.
