been listening for many, many years to the struggles that so

want to give you the solution that will work. But I'm

way less spammy than your social media ads, I promise. But

it's true, though. Like, sometimes we just need to have things spelled

out clearly for us, put right in front of our faces, for

us to start to believe that there is a different way

to recognize our problems and to embrace

the solution that's being put in front of us. So today, I'm

List, I want you to stop and reflect on if

you're struggling with any of these issues, any of these

signs, and what kind of effect it may be having on your

life. And what would life look like if you decided

to take the next step and begin your intuitive eating

journey. So, let's jump in. Sign

number one. You've tried every
00:04:18
diet and weight loss program out there, but still haven't seen
00:04:22
sustainable results. The program

seems to work for a while, and you can stick with it for a
00:04:29
while, but the program doesn't support
00:04:33
your busy lifestyle. It feels like
00:04:37
trying to stay on any sort of diet or weight loss plan
00:04:40
is a full time job. And then as soon as life gets busy,

you fall off track. And the lies you tell yourself are that you

just haven't found the right thing yet, or that it's your fault that you can't
00:04:52
stick with it because you just aren't strong enough, or you don't have enough
00:04:55
willpower to do it. And what's even more is, I

think a lot of, a lot of women are at the point where
00:05:03
they know, they know these quick fixes,
00:05:06
these diet and weight loss programs, these pills, these supplements,
00:05:10
they really don't work. At least not for the long
00:05:14
time, long term. So you may even know that these. Programs don't
00:05:18
work, but you just don't know what to do instead. Hint,

hint. It's intuitive eating sign number

two, you wish healthy eating could be simple and
00:05:29
enjoyable. Right now, after the
00:05:32
years of following diet and weight loss recommendations, you're
00:05:36
confused and you're frustrated by all the different diets,
00:05:40
weight loss programs, shakes, supplements and healthy eating
00:05:43
recommendations. They seem to contradict themselves all the
00:05:46
time. It's like here, eat only whole
00:05:50
foods. And nothing refined or processed and in the same breath. Here you need this
00:05:53
supplement or this shake from my program. And it's
00:05:57
confusing. But we have to remember that with. The massive amount of
00:06:01
money at stake. In the diet and weight loss industry, companies
00:06:04
are keeping you on that roller coaster with ever
00:06:08
changing solutions. And I say that, quote,
00:06:12
solutions to the problem that they actually
00:06:15
created. I want you to stop and think about that. Everything that you've
00:06:19
learned about dieting and. Weight loss so far, how our bodies were
00:06:23
not designed to diethouse. I want you to stop and
00:06:26
think the diet industry created this problem
00:06:30
by pushing solutions that don't work.
00:06:34
And they know it, but they're not going to admit that. They
00:06:38
just repackage the same diets over and over again, calling them something
00:06:42
different and putting a pretty new bow on it, and
00:06:46
myself included. We've fallen victim to their plots time
00:06:50
after time. And it only leaves you constantly
00:06:53
wondering what's true and what isn't, what's the right
00:06:57
thing to eat or who should you be following for advice?
00:07:03
Healthy eating doesn't require jumping through hoops of
00:07:07
fire. And it doesn't leave you burned time and time
00:07:10
again. Sign number three,

you wish you had more time and energy, because it
00:07:18
seems like you never have enough time and energy to really focus on the
00:07:21
things that you really want to. And this is especially true when
00:07:25
your day is controlled by food. You spend
00:07:29
all day thinking about food, trying to figure out what you should be eating,
00:07:32
and if whatever you choose will either make you gain weight or help you
00:07:36
lose weight. I think it's interesting because research has
00:07:40
shown that most non disordered eating people, that means people
00:07:43
who do not engage in any sort of
00:07:47
disordered eating, meaning non dieters.
00:07:51
So most non disordered eating people think about food
00:07:54
about 15% of their day. Now, people
00:07:58
with anorexia nervosa, which is an eating disorder,
00:08:02
think about food up to 115% of their
00:08:05
day because it's an obsession. And so we would have
00:08:09
to realistically think that, like, chronic dieters and people
00:08:12
who are engaged in disordered eating tend to fall
00:08:16
somewhere in the middle. So let's just say that you
00:08:20
spend 75% of your time thinking about food
00:08:24
and this shows up because you have. Those annoying voices in your head
00:08:28
shouting. All those eating and food rules all day long. Don't eat
00:08:31
this. That's not good for you, that has too much
00:08:34
sugar. You also weigh and measure out your. Foods, count
00:08:38
and track calories. Or macros like you
00:08:42
probably spend just. As much time logging your food as. You
00:08:46
do scrolling socials. So it's no wonder it feels like. You don't have
00:08:50
time for anything else. Your mind is full of diet,
00:08:53
culture, noise and nonsense, and it's robbing
00:08:56
you of your precious time and energy.

So if you were to heal your relationship
00:09:04
with food, you could actually create more time. You
00:09:08
could increase your time by 60%. Like what
00:09:12
would you do with 60% more free time?

Sign number four. You wish meal planning,
00:09:20
cooking, and grocery shopping was easier.

Currently, in this current diet culture
00:09:27
mentality that you find yourself stuck in, it's likely your
00:09:31
meals are not very enjoyable. You struggle with meal
00:09:35
planning because you never know what to cook because you're so limited
00:09:39
by what is quote unquote weight loss approved.
00:09:42
Or you feel like you're eating the same foods over and over
00:09:46
because they're quote unquote safe. Or you're making
00:09:49
separate meals, the one that you can eat and then the one that everyone else
00:09:53
can. You feel like you never get to
00:09:56
eat foods that you enjoy, and if you do, you're only left

feeling guilty and you're haunted by the memory
00:10:04
of your grandmother. Or worse yet, because for me, it was
00:10:08
my grandfather saying, once on the lips, forever
00:10:12
on the hips. With every bite you take,

there is just so little enjoyment or pleasure at

mealtime that you tend to just run through it and rush

through it. So it will just be over sooner. But we need to stop

and remember that our food is a gift from

God meant to nourish our physical bodies,

one that should bring us enjoyment and
00:10:38
pleasure throughout the day and allow us to be connected

by his and abundance and his provisions for
00:10:45
us. Sign number five. You wish you

weren't tempted by food anymore. You

are finding yourself secretly binging. Or you feel guilty

about eating certain foods, so you sneak foods or you

eat in hiding so no one catches you eating something that you quote

unquote shouldn't be. The worst possible thing would be

for your kids to see you eating a cookie or a candy bar or your
00:11:11
husband to find those wrappers that you've hidden.

And to the outside world, you look

like the perfect eater who is never tempted. You put on

this really brave food face when you're out in public and.

Everyone would never believe that it's possible. For you to crave anything quote

unquote bad. But on the inside, you

feel like you have zero self control around

foods. You are good all day long

only to have it fall apart at night.

Sign number six. You don't want to be an emotional
00:11:48
eater anymore. You're tired of having a rough

day, and it ends up in you reaching for your favorite treat in hopes

of it making you feel better. And while that may work

temporarily, you're then faced with the guilt and the shame of
00:12:03
what you ate. I you really don't want
00:12:07
to turn to food. And you know that you have this emotional
00:12:11
eating struggle, but you don't know how to change it. So

you've become a victim not only to your emotions

and to this pool. That food
00:12:22
has over you. And it ends up in you being
00:12:26
in like this self sabotage mode by continuously turning to
00:12:29
food in hopes of feeling better to then only feel
00:12:33
worse. Sign number seven.

You wish you could look in the. Mirror and not hate what you see.

You are so tired of hating your body.

You wish that you could look at a picture of yourself

or walk past a mirror without thinking, I'm

so big, or I'm so fat, or I'm just

gross. I just feel gross. Or gosh,

I just need to lose some weight. You wish you could stop

worrying about what other people are thinking about your body. Here's

a spoiler alert. They're not because they're too busy worrying about
00:13:11
their own body. But you wish you could just stop comparing
00:13:14
yourself to others and be content

with who you are. How you view
00:13:22
yourself based on the. Outside has caused a lot of damage on
00:13:26
the inside. You suffer from low confidence and low
00:13:30
self esteem. You doubt belief in
00:13:34
yourself and your abilities or your gifts.

And you wish that you could see yourself as maybe
00:13:41
your husband or your friend or your daughter, or how
00:13:44
God sees you. You want to truly
00:13:48
believe and embrace that you are beautiful and worthy
00:13:51
and loved and capable. Y'all, it is time

to take off those broken and cracked lenses that you've been using
00:13:59
to view yourself through for too long. It's time to take them off.

Because where has all of this gotten you? Where

has dieting and weight loss gotten you? Where has worrying about what
00:14:11
you're eating gotten you? Where has hating your body gotten
00:14:15
you? You feel hopeless, and you wonder if you'll
00:14:18
ever figure this out. You feel like you're just not
00:14:22
good enough for anything. You put
00:14:26
your life on hold, waiting until you finally lose the weight
00:14:30
or you have that tone body, to take the trip, to
00:14:34
go after a career goal, to dream about
00:14:37
doing something different in your life, to follow God's plan.

You have low energy and a sluggish. Metabolism with
00:14:46
which frustrates you. You think that you're
00:14:50
a failure, and you blame yourself, despite the fact you've
00:14:53
tried so hard at all of this. And then I think this big
00:14:57
one is, you can't believe
00:15:01
that you can succeed at anything because you can't succeed at
00:15:05
dieting. Let me say that one again.

You don't think you can succeed at anything because

you haven't been able to succeed at dieting.

That one kind of hurts. Like, I know that lie

pretty well. I believed that one for a really,
00:15:24
really long time. But I want to remind

you that Jesus Christ came, that you might
00:15:32
have life. It's time to
00:15:36
let him lead you out of the bondage of diet and weight
00:15:39
loss culture, just as he led the Israelites out of slavery
00:15:43
in Egypt. He is offering
00:15:46
you a chance at freedom.
00:15:51
Keys to freedom. But you have to decide if you
00:15:55
want it. You have to decide if you want what he is offering you.
00:15:59
I get that staying where you are is
00:16:03
comfortable. You don't maybe necessarily like where you
00:16:07
are, but it's familiar. And so you tell yourself that
00:16:10
I can just live this way. It's fine, but it's really
00:16:14
something probably deeper that's holding you back. It's
00:16:17
likely fear of all these unknowns and what
00:16:21
ifs that could potentially come up if you try intuitive
00:16:25
eating. But let's look at the reality.
00:16:29
Every single morning, we wake up to a day full of
00:16:33
unknowns. The difference here is that
00:16:36
when we let fear control the unknown,
00:16:40
we are making the choice to let Satan decide how it will play
00:16:44
out. And we continue to be enslaved
00:16:47
when we choose to stay where we are. Even if it's not good for
00:16:51
us. We'Re still making a choice. A choice to not let
00:16:55
God move and work. A choice to not be renewed or
00:16:58
transformed. But instead, we can choose
00:17:02
faith in our lord. Despite the fear, despite the unknowns and
00:17:05
the what ifs, he is the one who decides how
00:17:09
it will play out. If we take that first step in
00:17:13
faith with him, he gets to guide our steps
00:17:16
and lead us to what is good, because he is our good
00:17:20
shepherd. I truly believe that
00:17:24
for me, intuitive eating was a doorway that God put
00:17:27
in front of me, one that I chose to walk
00:17:31
through despite really not knowing if intuitive eating
00:17:35
would work and despite still really wanting to lose
00:17:38
weight. But I took a chance.
00:17:42
I saw that maybe there was hope. To let go of some of
00:17:46
these things that were keeping me
00:17:50
enslaved for so long. And in stepping through that
00:17:53
doorway, it led me to a relationship with the
00:17:57
Lord, which was something that I really didn't have
00:18:01
before because I was too focused on my body
00:18:04
and my weight. And now it's a
00:18:08
relationship that continues to grow deeper. Like, I can now
00:18:12
hear the Lord speak to me when before, I never could.
00:18:16
And I thought that there was something wrong with me because I'd hear other people
00:18:19
say that they could hear the Lord speaking to them. And I was like, I
00:18:23
don't like what's wrong? What am I doing wrong? And it turns
00:18:26
out that my head was just full of so many
00:18:30
other voices, voices that weren't God's
00:18:34
voice. But through this process,
00:18:37
I was able to clean up my thoughts and stop giving into what
00:18:41
society said is best and beautiful.

God because I learned more

about myself. It was the first step to better knowing God by better
